Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas of lemon, toasted almond, and brioche. Flavors of lime, creme brulee and apple blossom.
Vineyard Notes
One vineyard sits between 900' and 1200' elevation. Southeast aspect, with 10% grade. Rocky soil comprised of shale, limestone and clay. The other is a similar elevation but is comprised of green stone and quartz and is a Southwest aspect.
Production Notes
Whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented in French oak barrels - 20% new oak. Barrels were stirred once a month for 6 months to promote richness and depth.
Winemaker Notes
2018 was a fairly wet year, with well above average precipitation. This created issues with fruit set, yields and quality. It took a lot of diligence in the vineyard and cellar to pull off a successful vintage. It helped that we had vineyards spread out all over the place. This allowed us to be very selective with which fruit would end up in which program.
