“It is always an honor for our wines to be recognized in such a significant way by an esteemed competition such as the San Francisco International Competition” remarked Rappahannock’s proprietor John Delmare. “It’s especially significant that both our Cabernet Franc and Viognier, were honored in light of the growing prominence of these varietals in Virignia. These awards continue to be a great compliment to our winemaking team, consisting of winemaker Jason Burrus and vineyard manager Tom Kelly. After making wine in California and Europe, this is Jason’s first chance to truly showcase his talents in Virginia. What a terrific coming out party!”
The San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest, most influential international wine competition in America, is judged by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized wine experts. Judging is based on a blind, consensual procedure, ensuring that its rigor and integrity remain the nation’s most respected competition.
Rappahannock Cellars has been producing award winning wines for over 9 years in Virginia; after John Delmare relocated his family’s winery from the Santa Cruz Mountains of California to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
