10th Anniversary Coming Up, Inaugural New Website Post!

We’re coming up on our 10th anniversary here at the Cellars. As we prepare to close out a decade of fantastic wines, visitors, and memories (and to welcome in the “twenty-teens,”) we find our name to be regarded among the best in the industry. Our family, the Rappahannock Family, has been the driving force behind our growth and success in the Virginia Wine industry: our fans, our customers, our friends, our wine club members, and of course, our staff and immediate family. We’re thankful and proud of everyone’s dedication, and we’re proud of all of you!

  • A Chablis-like Chardonnay made in stainless steel without any oak. Fresh lemon peel and straw define the aroma and palate. Tight acidity rounds out the finish.

As mentioned in my first quarterly update, the vines are at risk from frost during the spring months, and as fate would have it – that’s just what happened. On the morning of April 29th, we had a frost event. Of the three vineyards we farm, only one was seriously affected.

Please join us for a tasting of the finest Viogniers of the world here at Rappahannock Cellars. A “production” tasting is one in which your own wines are put up against benchmark wines for the purpose refining your house style. This year I have selected four foreign wines that I will pit against my 2007 and 2008 Rappahannock Cellars Viognier. These are no ordinary wines, these Viogniers come from the most highly regarded producers in the world. Here’s the lineup:
